Andy what structure do you normally fish landbased. Deep or shallow water? Rockey, Flats etc.

Hi Lee
At the moment i have been targeting shallow flats, but also snags along shore overhanging & submerged trees,i know the tpb70114 is a bit of a all rounder, but would it be ok as a specialist sp rod.
I read a lot of yours & the others Duffrod users threads highly rating the x840dsi which is a great hb rod,I guess i want a quiver of Duffrods that cover all facets of land based fishing.

Thanks Lee for replying to my post this a great thread which you started,I hope you experts keep the posts coming for novices like me

Andy,
the x-820, x-840 and x-860 were designed as allrounders for both plastic's and hards these rods will cover all your needs.
the grunt factor just goes up as you go up in length.
the x-842 is the hardbody only rod here, even though some use it for bigger plastics but its main purpose is for hards.
i hope this helps.
cheers

Its a bit of a specialised rod that was constructed to chase big big fish on the flats and creeks from Noosa, Hervey and beyond.

Its also quite at home for throwing spinnerbaits and also targeting snapper. Funnily enough its equally at home as being a stump puller for bream.

Its an X-Series 821 3-6kg

hey mate i was wondering how the rod has gone? im looking at either
1. X-811sp – 3-6kg, 6’9.
2. X-821dsi – 2-6kg, 6’10

im looking at something for snapper, school jew and very rarely rat kings using plastics.
also what reel are you using on it? just so i can get an idea of what i might need for mine(when i get it). cheers YD

Hi mate. Love the rod. I use either a 2500r custom certate or a 3500hd certate, depending on what I am chasing.

Have a chat to Steve and let him know we have chatted about the rod.

Happy to answer any more questions.

Cheers

Lee

These rods are simply amazing. My x860 being the biggest stand-out - the power on this rod is just simply amazing.

I think I'm gonna put another order for an x860 or an x820 :) probably an 860....

My mate doesn't even use his steez anymore and borrows my 840 everytime

Hi guys.

Just a quick write up for the Duffrods X Series 821. Managed a nice 77 cm snapper on the rod and it handled the fish with ease.

Once again Steve, top rod and couldn't ask for anything more.

Cheers

Lee

Just got a new addition to my duffs, a X781docks. I am really impressed with this one. It has the grunt of a bass rod but with the finesse tip of a light bream rod. I wanted it for fishing docks in the harbour and racks in the hawkesburry. I took it out for a test out last weekend and was amazed at how well it flicked 1/40 plastics. Can't wait for a rack sesh with it.

It's 6'6" and 2-6kg Xfast , with Titanium k all the way and a slightly bigger tip.

Cheers
Chris
